LOCATION
Mumbai
Responsible for overseeing and managing the Imports and DGFT. To manage end-to-end import operations, customs clearance, documentation, license utilization, vendor coordination, and compliance with all relevant EXIM and customs regulations to ensure timely delivery and regulatory adherence.
Key Result Areas
Lead end-to-end import operations – from Bill of Entry preparation and customs clearance to documentation, shipment tracking, and warehouse coordination.
Ensure strict compliance with EXIM policies, Customs Act, and DGFT regulations. Your work ensures we always stay audit-ready and regulation-compliant.
Maximise license utilisation – manage Advance Licenses, registration, tracking, and redemption while reducing risk of duty payment errors or mis-declaration.
Drive process efficiency – leverage ERP/SAP for accurate entry (NN to GRN), maintain precise DSRs in Excel, and ensure full control over import logistics.
Collaborate cross-functionally – work with vendors, CHAs, transporters, procurement, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery and minimal delays.
Coordinate DGFT & Customs interactions – from RA issuance to SAD Refund, MEIS, RoDTEP claims, license redemption, and ODC transport arrangements.
Own cost management – scrutinise and process vendor/CHA invoices, reconcile payments, and analyse charges like ground rent and liner costs.

Technical Competencies (Must-Have):
Deep understanding of Customs Act, Import Procedures, and DGFT policies
Expertise in Bill of Entry filing (all types), clearance procedures, and documentation
Experience with Advance License, RA Issuance, Redemptions, SAD Refunds, MEIS, RoDTEP
Familiarity with SAP/ERP systems, IVL entries, DSR creation, and vendor reconciliation
Strong grasp of Incoterms, insurance, logistics, freight rates, and ODC transportation
Hands-on coordination with CHA, shipping lines, DGFT, port & CFS authorities
Deep understanding of Customs Act, Import Procedures, and DGFT policies
Behavioral Competencies:
Expertise in Bill of Entry filing (all types), clearance procedures, and documentation

Qualifications
Educational Qualifications
Graduate in Commerce / Foreign Trade Educational Qualifications
PG Diploma in Import-Export Management preferred
Additional certifications in EXIM / International Trade / Logistics are a plus
Experience Qualifications
8+ years in a manufacturing environment (preferably conductor/cable/heavy volume industries)
Strong exposure to licensing, customs, and EXIM compliance
Familiarity with working in DTA/Deemed Exports, and DGFT documentation processes
Comfortable using ERP systems and managing compliance audit
